I have a cat allergy, but even if I didn’t, I’m not sure I’d be willing to keep a cat. Sure, it’d be nice to have a loyal pet, but I think of my friends who own cats and some of the common cat problems they run into: messes all over the house, cat sicknesses, expensive trips to the vet, having to buy cat food on top of your groceries. I mean… there’s a reason I never had children. Cats may not require the constant attention that children do, but they come with difficulties of their own, and I have enough things in my life to deal with without taking responsibility for another being.
