Archery Equipment

I was really into archery for about 10 years and while I am still very passionate about the sport, I think I want to try another sport. I have always been fascinated with fencing and I think there is a new shop that just opened up down the street. I have been looking on line for fencing gear and some of it looks like my archery gear. Is there anyway that I can start out with my archery gear and then slowly transition until I know if fencing is right for me?
